Smooth. Subtle.  Confident

Neuromodulators at Healy Plastic Surgery

When it comes to refreshing your appearance, sometimes the most noticeable changes are also the most subtle. That’s the beauty of neuromodulators like Botox®, Jeuveau®, and Dysport®. When administered by experienced injectors, these cosmetic injectables soften fine lines, prevent deeper wrinkles, and help your expression look relaxed, not frozen.

At Healy Plastic Surgery in Honolulu, our aesthetic team offers customized injectable treatments tailored to your facial anatomy and goals, not a one-size-fits-all dose. Whether you're just starting out or looking for a maintenance routine that feels right for you, we’re here to guide you with precision and care.

Confidence in Every Expression

What is Botox?

Neuromodulators are injectable treatments that temporarily relax the small facial muscles that cause wrinkles when we smile, squint, or frown. The most well-known of these is Botox®, but we also offer Dysport® and Jeuveau®—each with slightly different characteristics to suit different needs.

These treatments work by softening the appearance of dynamic lines, such as:

  • Frown lines between the eyebrows (the “11s”)
  • Horizontal forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Bunny lines on the nose
  • Lip lines and corners of the mouth
  • Chin dimpling or “orange peel” texture
  • Neck bands (in select patients)

Results are natural-looking and tailored to enhance—not change—your expression.

Refined Features

What is the Botox procedure like?

Your appointment will begin with a consultation to discuss your goals, facial anatomy, and any prior experience with neuromodulators. Based on this, your provider will recommend the best product and dosing plan for you.

Treatment takes 15–30 minutes and involves a series of small injections with a fine needle. Discomfort is minimal—most patients describe it as a light pinch—and no anesthesia is needed. You can return to normal activity immediately after, though we’ll advise you to avoid strenuous exercise, lying flat, or applying pressure to the area for about 4–6 hours.

Different Products, One Purpose

What’s the Difference Between Botox, Jeuveau, and Dysport?

While all three products use botulinum toxin type A, they differ slightly in how they spread, how quickly they take effect, and how they’re formulated.

Botox®

Botox® The most well-known brand. Precise and effective. Often used in areas like the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet.

Jeuveau®

Nicknamed “Newtox,” it’s known for fast onset and is often chosen by younger patients or those new to injectables. Designed specifically for aesthetic use.

Dysport®

Has a slightly quicker onset and may diffuse more, making it a popular choice for broader areas like the forehead. Results may appear within 2–3 days.

Your provider will help you choose the right option based on your goals, facial structure, and previous experiences.

Targeting Those Little Lines

What conditions does Botox address?

Neuromodulators are ideal for treating:

They can also be used for preventative treatments in younger patients (late 20s to early 30s) before lines become more pronounced.

Tailored Results

What areas can Botox treat?

Common treatment areas include:

  • Forehead lines
  • Between the eyebrows (glabella)
  • Around the eyes (crow’s feet)
  • Nose (bunny lines)
  • Mouth (lip flip or downturned corners)
  • Chin (for texture smoothing)
  • Neck bands (select cases)

We can also combine neuromodulators with dermal fillers or skin treatments for more comprehensive facial rejuvenation.

Prevent. Refine. Maintain.

What are the benefits of Botox?

Botox, Jeuveau, and Dysport offer several benefits, including softening fine lines and wrinkles and preventing deeper expression lines. These treatments are fast, require no downtime, and provide subtle, natural-looking results. Patients often experience boosted confidence with minimal effort and achieve a refreshed appearance that still reflects their natural look.

Prevent, Perfect Or Both

Is Botox right for me?

Most healthy adults looking to smooth fine lines or prevent aging signs are candidates for neuromodulators. You may be a good fit if you:

  • Have mild to moderate facial wrinkles from movement
  • Want a non-surgical way to refresh your appearance
  • Are not pregnant, nursing, or allergic to botulinum toxin
  • Prefer subtle, natural results over dramatic changes

During your consultation, we’ll make sure this treatment aligns with your goals and safety profile.

No Downtime Needed

Botox Recovery

There’s no downtime with Botox, Jeuveau, or Dysport. You can return to work, errands, or lunch right after your appointment. Redness at the injection site typically fades within minutes to an hour. To protect your results, we’ll ask you to avoid:

  • Rubbing or massaging the area
  • Lying down for 4 hours
  • Intense exercise for 24 hours
  • Excessive heat (saunas, steam rooms)

Results begin to appear in 3–7 days, depending on the product, and continue to improve over two weeks.

Subtle Changes That Say a Lot

Botox Results

Results typically last 3 to 4 months, though this can vary based on dosage, treatment area, and individual metabolism. With consistent use, many patients find their results last longer and require fewer units over time.

Patients describe their post-treatment look as:

  • More relaxed and well-rested
  • Noticeably smoother skin
  • Still expressive—just softer and more confident
