Have Your Fill

Dermal Fillers at Healy Aesthetics

As we age, it’s natural to lose volume in the face, especially in areas like the cheeks, lips, and under the eyes. These changes can make us look more tired or less defined, even when we feel vibrant inside. Dermal fillers offer a gentle, non-surgical way to bring that balance back.

At Healy Aesthetics, part of Healy Plastic Surgery in Honolulu, we use dermal fillers to enhance your features in a way that looks soft, natural, and never overdone. Whether you’re smoothing smile lines, lifting the cheeks, or adding subtle fullness to the lips, every treatment is customized to support your goals and preserve your unique look.

Versatile Options

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are cosmetic injectable treatments designed to restore volume, smooth lines, and enhance facial contours. Among the most well-known dermal fillers are those formulated with hyaluronic acid (HA), a humectant that rebuilds volume by drawing moisture to the treatment area. At Healy Aesthetics, we work with the HA fillers Evolysse, Restylane and Juvederm, known for their smooth, natural-looking finish. We also offer injectable treatments with Sculptra and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), with each offering unique benefits.

Our curated selection of injectables allows us to create personalized treatments matched to your needs:

Restylane®

The Restylane family of hyaluronic acid-based fillers provide immediate, natural-looking volume. Different formulations are ideal for treating areas like the cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds, and under-eye area.

Evolysse

The newest FDA-approved injectable hyaluronic acid uses cold technology in its formulation, which can provide longer-lasting results. Nasalabial lines, marionette lines, lips, cheeks, and chin are common areas treated with Evolysse.

Juvederm

The Juvederm family of HA fillers can be used to treat multiple areas of the face to include: nasolabial lines, lips, cheeks, chin and jawline.

Sculptra®

Sculptra is a collagen-stimulating injectable that works gradually to restore volume and support your skin’s structure over time. It is best for patients seeking long-term improvement without an “instant filler” effect.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

PRP uses your body’s own plasma to improve skin tone, texture, and volume. PRP contains concentrated growth factors to boost the health and appearance of your skin. It is often used under the eyes or in other delicate areas to support collagen production and natural rejuvenation.

Each filler works differently, and the best option depends on your facial anatomy, age, and goals. Your provider will walk you through the choices to find the most appropriate treatment or combination of treatments for you.

Precision Care With a Personal Touch

What is the dermal filler treatment like?

Filler appointments typically take 30–45 minutes and begin with a conversation about your goals and areas of concern. A topical anesthetic is used to ensure comfort, and your provider will place the product with gentle, strategic precision.

A PRP treatment involves an additional step. Your aesthetic specialist will draw a small sample of your blood and process it in a centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich plasma. PRP is rich in growth factors that kickstart a natural process of cellular renewal. Once your personalized PRP serum is created, it is injected into key areas to address concerns like fine lines, uneven skin texture, and laxity. You’ll leave your appointment able to return to most of your daily activities with little to no interruption. Your aesthetic specialist will provide clear aftercare instructions to ensure smooth healing and optimal results.

What conditions do dermal fillers address?

Dermal fillers are used to address a range of age-related and structural concerns, including:

  • Hollow cheeks or under-eyes
  • Thinning lips
  • Deep smile lines (nasolabial folds) or marionette lines
  • Mild jowling or sagging in the lower face
  • Uneven facial symmetry or volume imbalance
  • Skin texture and tone (with PRP)

Fillers can also be used preventatively to slow signs of aging before they become more noticeable.

The Confidence Refresh You Deserve

What are the benefits of dermal fillers?

When performed thoughtfully, dermal fillers can help you feel more like yourself again—rested, refreshed, and subtly supported. Benefits include:

Meet Your Perfect Match

Am I a candidate for dermal fillers?

Most healthy adults in their 30s to 60s are good candidates for dermal fillers, particularly those noticing early signs of aging or wanting to enhance their features without surgery. Fillers are well-suited for individuals experiencing volume loss, skin laxity, or deeper lines who are seeking a subtle, natural-looking refresh. If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or managing certain skin or autoimmune conditions, treatment may need to be postponed. During your consultation, our providers will carefully review your health history and goals to ensure that filler treatment is safe, appropriate, and thoughtfully personalized to you.

Step Back Into Your Day

Dermal Filler Recovery

Recovery after a dermal filler treatment is typically brief. Some patients experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising at injection sites, especially in areas with thinner skin, like under the eyes or lips. These effects generally fade within a few days. For the first 24–48 hours, we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol, and direct heat (like saunas or facials).

Results continue to refine as the product settles and integrates into your skin. Sculptra requires no downtime, but you’ll be asked to gently massage the area for a few days to support collagen development. We will instruct you on proper massage technique and remain available to answer any questions you may have.

Fall in Love With Your Look

Dermal Filler Results

Restylane, Evolysse, Juvederm provide immediate, visible results, adding volume, smoothing folds, and enhancing facial contours as soon as the treatment is complete. Any initial swelling typically resolves within a few days, allowing your features to settle into a refreshed, natural look. Depending on the area treated and the product used, results can last from 6 to 18 months. Sculptra works differently. Rather than delivering instant volume, it stimulates your skin’s own collagen production to rebuild structure gradually.

You may begin to see subtle improvements after 6 to 8 weeks, with results continuing to evolve for several months. With a full treatment series, benefits can last over 2 years, offering soft, long-term support. PRP results develop slowly and subtly as your skin regenerates from within. Most patients begin to notice improved tone, texture, and a healthy glow within 2 to 4 weeks, with continued improvement over the next few months. For best results, a series of treatments is typically recommended, especially in delicate areas like under the eyes.
